Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier Release Date

The Ghost Recon series of games, published by Ubisoft and based on the writings of Tom Clancy, is a third person shooter game which also switches to first person in parts of the game. The Future Soldier edition of the game is the fourth installment in the series (excluding expansion packs). The Ghost Recon Future Soldier release date is currently slated for May 22, 2012.

The Ghost Recon series of games are some of the most popular military games on the market today. They feature cutting edge graphics and display technology, incredible high tech weaponry and state of the art game play in single shooter and multi-shooter modes.

The plot of the game is based on fighting enemies from the former Russia which has been taken over by an ultranationalist government. A player takes control of a 4 man ghost team that consists of specialists in commando, sniper, reconnaissance and engineer soldier roles. The game can also be played with up to eight players online.

Some of the expected new features of the game will be the ability to customize the weapons that a player can use, the ability to apply optical camouflage (that allows players to become partially invisible) and the ability to control drones that are used for reconnaissance when preparing an attack. In addition there are exoskeletons for the soldiers available in the new version as well as personal mortars that are able to fire guided rockets from the shoulders of a player.

With the Ghost Recon Future Soldier release date slated for early this year it is likely to be one of the most anticipated new versions of this highly popular game series. With the ability to play on a solo or co-operative basis (including online with other players) it will offer the latest in military game features and technology.
