A solid and long-lasting symbol of peace in a world of war, the Galactic Republic has been effectively protected by the Jedi guardians. The simple existence of this gem in rough provided for desperately needed hope for peace and a civil community.

Not for long though… The fearless Sith Empire, with merciless Sith Lords leading it, has something else in mind – That something else being along the lines of total domination and a revengeful heart. Preparing for many centuries, they’re now ready to put their plan into action.

Their intimidating fleets of troops who know no fear has quickly launched an assault and have captured a number of worlds that dot the outer rim of the galaxy. Get ready for a kind of war that’s never been seen here. Get ready to choose your side and be prepared to face fears and the possibility of death…

From the moment you start playing Star Wars the Old Republic (SWTOR), you’ll be impressed with the way that it plays. Unlike some games of this caliber, you won’t find yourself just waiting to be pummeled while your moves are still trying to charge up. Nope, this game plays quick and smooth regardless of if you choose to be a bounty hunter, Sith warrior, trooper or smuggler (Oh, and all of which have unique quest lines giving you tons of game hours lying before you).

There is one downfall that seems a bit quirky and not sure why they wouldn’t fix it. No auto-attack! I guess it’s something you can live with though, as attacks are conveniently attached to and commanded by number keys.

The mix of weapons designed to be available is pretty impressive, too. Lightsabers, blasters and oh my – the jarring flamethrowers! Add to this the fact that you’re able to raid and loot your fallen enemies and you can find yourself with pretty sweet dual wielding action.

If you’re looking for the exhuberant artwork and impressive features of the land then you may be a bit disappointed. Sure, the characters are pretty realistic overall. But the details are where the problem lies. Look closely and you’ll notice the cartoony like appearance of their eyes and such.

As an MMO, they’ve done extremely well bringing Star Wars: The Old Republic to life.
